Devotional 5 - God Shall Provide

May I share with you a matter that God continues to teach me?  Oftentimes I will become concerned about a situation. It could be a person or a happening or whatever but it would cause me to have great consternation and concern. My ongoing experience has proven that almost everything that troubled me never took place! Scripture proves in Hebrews 11:1 that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We humans do well to delve into the Bible to give us direction in life.

Allow me to provide a living illustration from my experience. When the father of three precious little girls we lived, so to speak, from hand to mouth. We invented poverty!  a very special couple would let the family stay in their river home for a week every year. It was perfect with the exception of my catching what we fed on and without much else;  My wife almost started growing gills!

One day a stranger came to the backyard and beckoned me to join him in his vehicle. He seemed most honorable, and this was many years ago,  he told me he was there to help. The large vehicle transported us to a grocery store. When we entered I was informed to fill three large bags with all I needed. Once the bags were filled he took them, paid the bill and drove back to the river house. We had food left over!  After seeking to identify this stranger there was no person who ever saw anyone of his distription then or ever!

Once again god provided and I had nothing to be concerned over. In Paul’s letter to the Hebrews 13:2 he writes: “be not forgetful to entertain strangers for some have entertained angels unaware.”

God Shall Provide,
Peter

Devotional 4 - Palm Sunday

God shall never forsake his creation. He has provided a kinsman Redeemer for us to stand by us in times of crisis. People question His methods in providing such as we revisit Bethlehem. The Hebrew word for Bethlehem is “the House of Bread”. He is the bread of life!

When raising three girls in years past I had one that always kept me on my toes. One day I observed her lying on the ground seemingly lifeless. I rushed to her side and asked her, once she got to her feet, why she was on the ground. She left me with an everlasting gem! She told me that she had stepped on an ant and was apologizing to the little creature. My sudden response was that the ants could not understand her.

Later it came to me that God could not fully understand man and we Him. Thus God became a man at His birth in Bethlehem, Israel. He then was our personal friend, our comforter an ever-present one in our time of trouble. Also as our Father He is there for us to jump into His lap and address Him as our loving Father! Now reach out and tell Him what is on your heart and mind. He became like us that we in turn may become like Him. This Palm Sunday we recalled just how much He cared in saving us in His very death!

God’s love,
Peter

Devotional 3 - Abandoned But Not Alone

The Holy Scripture promises man that should one’s father or mother forsake them that the Lord would lift them up as seen in Psalm 27:10.  In true to life experience I was forsaken by my father as an infant. When still an infant I was given up by my birth mother in adoption.

Today I am in my nineties and testify that the Lord did indeed lift me up as He keeps His promises. My Lord has been ever present and my on-going Friend and Companion! Millions have experienced the loss of a parent, a friend, a companion or whatever.  Again God comes to meet the needs of the needy who seek Him.  A dear lady was meeting unpleasant conflict within her home when she fled to a local park to be alone with her Lord.  As she mused she came up with these words. “ I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses; And the voice I hear, falling on my ear, the Son of God discloses.  And he walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own, And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known.”

And so my dear friend look unto Him and He will bless you in a way which shall be most unique!  He longs to be wanted as He tells us in His word.  May you experience this marvelous warmth from His inexplicable love and devotion as you share His Divine love in you lives both now and evermore

In His Divine love,

Devotional 2 - Shipwrecked But Not Alone

A sailor suffered shipwreck and was able to remain afloat on some boards from the vessel he was sailing.  After sometime he managed to come upon a small island at sea. Immediately he began to comb the place for anything in assisting in putting together a shelter to protect him from the elements. After laborious hours and weeks he managed to construct a rather comfortable abode for himself.

One day, while searching for food, he turned around abruptly to behold his home being engulfed in monstrous flames. All that he had worked for so very long was in absolute destruction! He was overwhelmed with grief! In his sorrow he managed to look out to sea and observed a large ocean vessel. Soon the captain of the ship found his way to the lost man and shouted “We saw your smoke signal and came immediately!” Sometimes we see nothing but disaster and failure. It is then that we are rescued by our loving Captain. “I saw your distress signal and came to rescue you!!” He observed our plight in the outset as is indicated in the Gospel according to John, chapter 3, verse 16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Devotional 1 - In Our Times Of Sequestering

Psalm 91
In our times of sequestering we do well to be encouraged by the voice of our creator. He always is cognizant of our deepest needs. The staff and I are unable to be there for you in person so we'll send out these brief messages periodically as an encourage to you in this time.

Psalm 91 Living Bible (TLB)
We live within the shadow of the Almighty, sheltered by the God who is above all gods.

This I declare, that he alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I am trusting him. For he rescues you from every trap and protects you from the fatal plague. He will shield you with his wings! They will shelter you. His faithful promises are your armor. Now you don’t need to be afraid of the dark anymore, nor fear the dangers of the day; nor dread the plagues of darkness, nor disasters in the morning.[a]

Though a thousand fall at my side, though ten thousand are dying around me, the evil will not touch me. I will see how the wicked are punished, but I will not share it. For Jehovah is my refuge! I choose the God above all gods to shelter me. How then can evil overtake me or any plague come near? For he orders his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will steady you with their hands to keep you from stumbling against the rocks on the trail. You can safely meet a lion or step on poisonous snakes, yes, even trample them beneath your feet!

For the Lord says, “Because he loves me, I will rescue him; I will make him great because he trusts in my name. When he calls on me, I will answer; I will be with him in trouble and rescue him and honor him. I will satisfy him with a full life[b] and give him my salvation.”

Devotional For Our Uncertain Times

During the blitz in WW2, a distraught lady was crying that she had lost everything.  Furthermore, she discovered that she had just lost her crucifix and uttered: “now God I only have you!“. At times we also seemingly lose our all and yet it is then we may come to realize that he is our all in all. We feel like homeless Orphans and he surrounds us and we are comforted as never before.

It has been my privilege to have authored a book, “Defeating Loneliness”. In as much as I am not a well-known writer the book is not read as frequently as I may like. With this, I asked God about this matter and his answer was:  “tell me about it.” He supplies us with answers but we often fail to read his book.

May we turn to his love letters to us to discover help in time of need. King David wrote in Psalm 34: 18-19, “the Lord is close unto them that are of a broken heart and saves those of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”

May you experience His Divine deliverance,
Peter

Veterans Day Gratitude

Our prayer is that this nation which we have fought for, and some have died, may remain peaceful.  In recent times we have fallen into a quagmire which has exhibited itself to incivility.

Thus it behooves us, and is incumbent upon us, as a nation, to invoke your divine assistance for our land. May we abandon our weapons of hate and return to a godly respect for our fellow man. Also may we "put feet to our prayers" in our positive deliberations.  There are times when we may disagree but let us not become disagreeable in our disposition.
We implore our prayer in the name of the God of Abraham,Isaac and Jacob, even in that name which exceeds all others Jesua Elohim.

In His Love,
Peter

An Examination in Demonology

Pray for me and all those who read this short letter; as I will expose the enemy.  We will keep it simple and at the same time thorough.  Let us begin by acknowledging that there is but one God. Gen 1 ‘in the beginning Elohim’. God destroyed early creation, with the exception of eight dedicated believers which, by the way, is proof of God’s use of eternal retribution of the unrepentant. Thus all of humanity evolves from Ham, Shem, or Japeth. These are representative of all nations and peoples. Shem was the forefather of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob the future Hebrew nation through whom came the 12 tribes, the Holy Writ and the redeemer of all humanity. Ham’s offspring was Cush, which means “Black” in the Hebrew, his son was Nimrod, the hunter before god, people of babble and the Canaanites. This does not indicate that God condemned dark-skinned people as this was short-lived.  Japheth’s family tree are the English, Germans, and Caucasians races. In order to fully comprehend the message of scripture, one must understand that the old testament is the new testament concealed and is new testament is the old testament revealed. For instance, Psalm 23 is made understandable by john 10 as Christ Jesus provides the commentary. At the same time, we comprehend that the Hebrew faith and that of the Christian faith are indivisible. Only teaching one by itself leaves us with half of the message provided by the almighty.

Still another doctrine comes out of the creation story, as described in gen. 3:14 and :15 that of the creation of the redeemer and mention of another god.  This is depicted in Isaiah 14 verses 12 through 17. The reading of this scripture is primarily basic but may need some clarification. We will look at these passages to better understand what is being said when speaking of another created god. The creation of Satan is laid out in Ezekiel 28 in verses 12 through 19. The full description of our common enemy describes this fallen creation was so powerful that it is stated that if Satan were greater he would be as powerful and influential as The Lord God Almighty. His beauty is far above comprehension. He was placed in charge of worship and thrown down to earth due to his rebellion.  Second Corinthians 4 and verse 4 Paul, the apostle, refers to this creature as ‘the god of this world.’ (small g ) also in  Ephesians 2 and verse 2 and in John 14 and verse 30 it speaks of Satan as ‘The Prince And Power Of The Air.’ thus our god gets blamed oftentimes for acts of god by insurance companies!  We must get the full picture of what we are dealing with. Satan, unlike our god, is not omnipresent, and what we are usually experiencing are his daemons rather than Lucifer or Beelzebub.

So in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians chapter 6, we are instructed in the means of combating this monster. in verses 10 through 18 of Ephesians 6. Some may retort that we are most familiar with this passage and some have it memorized!  However, most believers in our Lord seem to have failed in donning their armor both defensively and offensively and are running around in their underwear. Our only offensive weapons are prayer and the word or sword.  Today comes to the awakening call from him as he underlines it in this message. The apostle Paul, in 11 Thess. 5 and verse 17, reminds all believers to pray unceasingly. Bill Bright the founder of campus crusade for Christ spoke of spiritual breathing.  One must breathe out the bad and breathe in the good air. I.e., if we confess our sin he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. He also gave us the four spiritual laws which became one of the most beneficial tools in spreading the good news.

At this hour, as we worship we are in an unseen battle. Should our sight be adjusted to see what is transpiring our hearts would fail us!  Even in the 1500's, Martin Luther threw an ink well at Satan who actually made himself known to this father of the reformation.  Luther, later in one of the greatest hymns of the faith, wrote: ‘though this world with the devil’s filled.’ he propounded that the just shall live by faith, at the same time others may have known this and yet were fearful in their confession of such.  In our time the church is willing for the second advent but it is not ready! The second coming is seldom heard in our time and a majority of today’s Christians no longer believe that it is imminent!

In first Samuel 3, God sought to instruct mankind; so God spoke to little  Samuel who thought it was the voice of a man, Eli, in spite of his spiritual failure gave Samuel the best advice ever when he informed him that it was God who was speaking to him.

God is speaking in this very hour but according to the author of Hebrews, we have become dull in hearing his voice of instruction.  Signs of his immediate return are most evident.  Even godless people are cognizant that something is about to happen. The pangs of birth are self-evident!  We are experiencing false prophets. Earthquakes of some eight points magnitude since 2004 are the most prevalent ever, apostasy, coldness in places of worship, increasing wickedness, the knowledge of man is the greatest in all history which the Bible mentions.

The next and final prophecy to be fulfilled will be the second advent. One must not engage in the setting of dates. And yet it must not prevent the beholding the signs of the times in accordance with our Lord providing the very generation that shall experience his visual manifestation.  We are in that period at this time! Those who have been redeemed are being given their marching orders. When Nicodemus was saved from sin Jesus explained to him what was happening. Recall this when our Lord told Nicodemus that one does not know where the wind comes from when it blows nor where it goes to when it stops blowing so are the things of the spirit.

The spiritual winds are now stirring in this very time and place. This should serve to create in us a deeper study and insight into what we may expect momentarily. In second Samuel chapter five and verses twenty-two through twenty-five, there is recorded just such a scenario.   This created in my soul and spirit the second spiritual musical composition our God provided. This composition went on the inner net just a few weeks ago and it has created a great response both positively and negatively.  The unbelievers are responding that there is no such thing as God. Some are reverting to very gross language. The daemons fought my writing out of this message on every hand as with placing this God-given message in song and word.

Finally, our Lord also provided an explicit parable in his Olivet discourse with the example of what to expect in these closing days. It is recorded in Matthew’s Gospel chapter 25 in verses 1 through 13 which clearly foretold in his message that we shall observe in these days, two distinct groups.  One will have oil within, which is the Holy Spirit and the other group will be empty.  The Holy Spirit is not mentioned in most spiritual gatherings today and those that have do not allow him to have liberty!  Our major lack is twofold. We are bereft of common sense in our churches and our government.  Godly wisdom is gone, Ichabod.  Let us close this letter with a prayerful plea to our great Lord for the gift of common sense, the filling of the Holy Ghost in our lives and wisdom He shall provide in accordance with James’ admonition. He provides wisdom for the asking. Never in all the annals of history both sacred and secular has there been such a flood of confusion of which our God is certainly not the author.

My prayers for you and all that read this letter which God has chosen to provide for us in this time.

Amen!

In His love and care,
Peter

"His Song For Me" Music Video

On Saturday, January 27, 2018 I was playing the harmonica when a special tune emerged. I called my daughter and she listened to the music. She was impressed and suggested that I record the song. I went to record it and discovered that my recorder was malfunctioning. It was at that juncture that the Lord gave me the words to the song as the music was being recalled as well. The entire span of time was less than two hours. Inasmuch as I knew nothing about writing either musical notes or words I contacted a man in Orlando who was in my congregation many years ago. By playing the harmonica and humming the message in song he came up with a CD which I had in my hands in a brief period. He related that the song was most impressive and selected a vocalist to sing with the music for still another CD which he sent to me in a matter of two days. The song was being written for my daughter who was being ordained for the chaplaincy and it was played as a surprise at the service. The song entitled “His Song For Me” has been heard by well over a thousand and several well known recording artists have voiced their approval. As of this time it awaits the possible recording of one of God’s own choosing so that it may be heard by others. Inasmuch as it was provided by God He will promote it in accordance with His divine plan. Meanwhile there has been nothing that has affected my life as has this beautiful melody from above.
